UNIT 5: WORK AND CAREER
My name‿ is Diego,│ and‿ I have been‿ a secondary school teacher for nine years. When‿ I was‿ eighteen,│ I wantedwan-did to study engineering,│ but Ibud I did not get the qualifications for‿ it,│ so I changed my plan. It was the best‿ accident‿ of my life.

My brother works for‿ an‿ insurance company. He has had two promotions‿ in three years,│ but he says his job security is not what‿ it was.
Young people today apply for ten‿ or twentytwen-dy jobs│ before they get‿ an‿ interview,│ an(d) many of them work part-time│ while they study. If‿ I were‿ eighteen‿ again,│ I would probably choose the same career. The salary is‿ average,│ but Ibud I am never bored,│ an(d) the training never stops. My cousin was made redundan(t) las(t) year‿ at 54,│ an(d) he is learning to code. Work‿ is not‿ a straight line‿ any more.
