Museums

My name‿ is‿ Iris,│ and‿ I visit museums│ whenever‿ I travel. Las(t) month‿ I wen(t) to a history museum that has been‿ open│ since 1892. The entrance fee was‿ only five dollars for students,│ so it was not‿ expensive‿ at all^adall.

The bes(t) par(t) was‿ an‿ interactive room‿ about daily life‿ in the Middle‿ Ages. You could touch copies‿ of the clothes‿ an(d) smell the food that people‿ ate. A guide‿ explained that the real‿ artefacts‿ are kept‿ in‿ a special dark room,│ because light damages them. Only twenty^twen-dy percent‿ of the collection‿ is‿ ever‿ on display.

However,│ I have had bad‿ experiences too. Once,│ I visited‿ a famous gallery at the weekend,│ and‿ it was so crowded│ that I^{thad I} could not see the paintings. My advice‿ is simple:│ go on‿ a weekday morning. If‿ a museum‿ is free,│ it will probably be full‿ of school groups. Museums‿ are worth visiting│ because they teach you more than‿ a book. A good‿ exhibition can change the way you see a whole century.
