My name‿ is Kevin,│ and‿ I have been with my girlfrien(d) for two years. We met‿ at‿ a partypar-dy,│ and‿ although I was very nervous,│ I went‿ over‿ an(d) started chatting to her‿ about music. It took me three weeks to ask her to go on‿ a date.
Before that,│ I had‿ a long-distance relationship for‿ a year,│ and‿ it broke my heart│ when we split‿ up. We were both students‿ in differen(t) countries,│ and‿ in the end,│ the phone calls were not‿ enough. Now I know what‿ I need:│ somebody who is‿ easy to talk to,│ not jus(t) somebody attractive.
My cousin has‿ a completely different‿ approach. He uses dating‿ apps,│ he meets two or three new people‿ a month,│ an(d) he says‿ it‿ is the bes(t) way to get to know differen(t) characters. He is‿ into the excitement. I could not do it. When‿ I fell‿ in love with my girlfriend,│ I already knew her for months. My advice to a frien(d) would be simple:│ take‿ it slowly,│ an(d) do not preten(d) to be somebody else. If‿ it starts with‿ a lie,│ it will‿ en(d) with one.
