UNIT 7: SPORTS
My name‿ is Nick. I watch the Olympics‿ every four years,│ and‿ I never miss the opening ceremony. The host cityci-dy prepares for many years,│ an(d) thousands‿ of‿ athletes compete‿ in hundreds‿ of‿ events.
My favorite momen(t) was│ when‿ a young swimmer from my country won‿ a gol(d) medal. She was‿ only 17,│ an(d) she broke‿ a record. She represented‿ everybody at home,│ an(d) my whole family shouted‿ in the living room.
Some‿ athletes qualify│ after years‿ of training,│ and‿ others lose‿ in one second. The medals‿ are‿ only three colors,│ but for‿ an‿ athlete,│ they can change‿ a life. I also like the smaller sports│ that we never see on TV.
