UNIT 1: FAMILY AND RELATIONSHIPS
My name‿ is David,│ and‿ I have two kids. My son‿ is ten‿ an(d) my daughterdau-der‿ is six. When my son was born,│ I was very nervous,│ but now I know what to do. Raising children‿ is hard,│ but Ibud I enjoy it.
My wife‿ and‿ I are not very strict,│ but we have rules. The kids have tohafta go to bed‿ at nine,│ an(d) they cannot watch TV│ before they do their homework. They do small chores‿ at home,│ an(d) we allow them to get pocket money for them. We try to be a good‿ example:│ we say please‿ an(d) thank you,│ an(d) we help‿ other people.
We want‿ our children to be independent‿ an(d) kind. Las(t) year,│ my son learned to cook‿ eggs,│ an(d) my daughterdau-der learned to take care‿ of her littleli-dle plants. It‿ is not‿ always‿ easy to be patient,│ but when‿ I see them grow up,│ I feel very proud.
